I believe that all of us have some struggle with being addicted to something in life, if we are honest with ourselves. I have found that this develops out of a desire to numb emotional pain that we have not been able to work through. I read recently that 80% of us have experienced some type of trauma and have not worked through that underlying pain causing us to find ways to suppress it. In doing so, we develop relational problems internally which then manifest with our family, our work, friends, and others.

In 2012, I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary with a master’s degree in clinical counseling. I took my first licensing test in Ohio before moving to Indiana where I began working in the community mental health field for 4.5 years. I received my independent LMHC licensing in 2016. I grew up in Michigan and since I was so close to there, I decided to license in Michigan as well.

I have ten years of experience as a therapist with helping people in these situations both individually and in groups. I find it a great privilege to listen to people’s stories and help them process where things are not working and develop goals to change their lives. I find particular interest in working with the age range of 12 to 29, but have worked with people at all stages of life.
